Meet Our Staff.
Elizabeth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s in clinical social work from Florida State University. She has 38 years' experience in healthcare including 15 years’ experience in social work and mental health. She is a Qualified Supervisor-Florida Board of Clinical Social Work. She enjoys working with all age groups and is a firm believer in empowering families to effectively intervene with children who may be struggling with issues, as well as managing the myriad of other dynamics associated with helping any family member to overcome mental health issues. Elizabeth is highly skilled at working with individuals, couples and families and utilizes various modalities including CBT, Trauma Focus-CBT, Family Structural Therapy, Sand Tray, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), and others. Her areas of specialty include anxiety and depression, women’s emotional health, postpartum depression, family therapy, couples counselling, trauma and PTSD, domestic violence, child and adolescent behavioral issues, parenting issues, family addiction and grief/loss. Elizabeth has lived in the Tallahassee area most of her life enjoying many strong relationships in the community and within the juvenile and adult justice system, drug courts, the state health and human services system and local school system. She currently works with an equal number of private and public sector clientele.
Nicole Herrera, MS
Nicole graduated from Saint Xavier in Chicago, Il with a Bachelors’ degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master's degree in Psychology from Florida State University with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis. Nicole is a trained BCaBA. She is a spirited and compassionate behavior specialist dedicated to helping people reach their full potential and ultimately achieving their independence. Nicole brings vast experience in direct patient care in different settings including: private practice-clinical, school, private home, group home, adult day training facilities and prisons. Nicole is highly skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, Natural Environment Training, Discrete Trial Teaching, Errorless Learning, Reduction Programming and Functional Analysis.
Stephanie Land, MMFT
Stephanie is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist who received two Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). One from Liberty University and the second from Northcentral University. She is certified to perform equine therapy for clients suffering from PTSD and other traumas. She enjoys working
with all age groups, especially children and adolescents who deal with anger, depression, anxiety, and trauma symptoms. Stephanie uses different modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused-CBT, Play Therapy skills, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Experiential Therapy. These modalities are used to engage clients and families, provide psycho education, provide a safe place to practice the new skills learned, and prepare clients to implement these skills in real life situations. Stephanie has lived in Tallahassee the majority of her life and spends most of her off time enjoying farm animals; horses, dogs and cats. She has been empowered by relationships she built with numerous state agencies including FDLE, Department of Corrections, Department of Juvenile Justice and Department of Children and Families.
Emily Rodriguez, MSW, RCSWI
Emily is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern who earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Minnesota State University. Emily has been a Tallahassee resident since 2018 and counsels local residents and helps them with a variety of issues including mood management, self-esteem, parenting, family conflict, child welfare involvement, and more. Emily enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Emily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and is a trauma informed counselor. Emily strongly believes that while sometimes we can all use help, everyone can live a happier, more fulfilling life and hopes to create a comfortable, professional environment to help foster the change to get you there!
Mary Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master's degree in clinical social work from Florida State University. She enjoys working with children of all ages, adolescents, teens, and families looking to improve communication and interactions. Mary Beth utilizes multiple therapeutic theories and modalities including client centered and family therapy, behavior modification, therapeutic play and art techniques, and CBT and TF-CBT. Mary Beth works with individuals facing anxiety and depression, mood related issues, and working through traumatic experiences. She strives to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment where positive change can take place.
Mariah Lewis, MSW
Mariah is a Master's level Social Worker who received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida State University with a minor in child development. Mariah received her Master's of Social Work from University of West Florida. Mariah believes in reunification of families and supporting and strengthening individuals as well as the family unit. Mariah works well with individuals, couples, groups, and families as well as having a wide range of knowledge and experience with all demographics. Mariah is highly skilled with grief/loss, parental techniques, emotional regulation, relaxation methods, progress muscle relaxation, PTSD and trauma, cognitive reframing, depression, anxiety, and more. Mariah believes in the importance of self exploration, healthy communication, and acknowledgement of one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to gain healthy thought patterns for the growth of one's future self.
Melanie Antones, LCSW
Melanie has been helping individuals, groups and families for over 20 years.. Melanie is a Licensed clinical social worker and also a qualified supervisor. She graduated from Barry University in Miami,Fl. Melanie provides individual therapy to adults, teens and children. Melanie's focus is in the following areas: anxiety, substance abuse, life transitions, relationship and women's issues. She tailors techniques and tools to fit each person's personality and strengths. Melanie employs an eclectic approach to therapy focusing on each person as an individual. She has worked in many mental health settings with a diverse range of clients.
Joel Westby, LCSW
Joel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received his Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas/College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. He has 20 years experience in social work and mental health. He enjoys working with all age groups including the geriatric population and severe and persistently mentally ill adults. Joel has been in Tallahassee for the past 11 years and knows resources in this community. He works with clients with depression, anxiety, life transitions and other mental health issues. He utilizes CBT, motivational interviewing and client centered and solution focused approaches in therapy. Joel meets the client where they are and helps them improve their life in a positive way.
